Professional Questions

What is your dream job?
My dream job would be to work for a defense company, ideally working on the design of the next-generation aircraft. If I had to be very specific, it would be working for Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works.
What do you consider your greatest weakness?

At times, I can be incredibly indecisive. It is so bad that I have a random number generator app on my phone to help me make decisions.

What are your motivations?

I have to be honest here. One of my major motivations is the desire to become financially well-off so that I can further explore my passions. Another motive is to live up to the expectations of my family and peers.

Where do you see yourself five years from now?

I see myself employed and having the time, space, and money to further explore my hobbies such as RC airplanes and combat robotics

What is an accomplishment that you are proud of?

The first thing that comes to mind is being a finalist for the Helicopter 2050 challenge. I put a lot of work into my submission and was rewarded with a prize package, including a shirt I still wear to this day.

When was a time where you made a mistake?

There are so many mistakes that I have made. The first thing that comes to mind is rushing drilling holes for a pulley mount without properly measuring them.

What are some of your leadership experiences?

I captained my high-school roller hockey team, attended a program in the Dominican Republic (Global Glimpse), was a program coordinator for Khmer Outreach and Retention (KORE), and an airframe director for Unmanned Aeriel Systems (UAS)

What makes you uncomfortable?

I often get uncomfortable when I have to message people. Often times I would think too much about how the recipients would react to my messages and my word choice. I combat this anxiety by setting deadlines for myself to send the messages that I want to, and by assuming the best of my peers.

Are you a leader or a follower?

I am most definitely a follower. I am a very good follower, and I believe I can work as a catalyst for good leaders. However, I am working out my leadership abilities to make me a better-rounded person.

What is an area that you can improve on?

I need to be more assertive. I am too conforming and would too often not even share my opinions.
