Here are some of my personal projects
Quadcopter
During the summer of 2019, I built a foot-long FPV quadcopter that was originally designed to carry a small flamethrower. I designed the entire aircraft on SolidWorks and put together the aircraft in my humble living room. I learned a great deal about the different components of a quadcopter and became more confident as an engineer.
RC Warbird
*Postponed*
During the summer of 2019, I planned to build an RC Warbird. Before summer began, I dreamt about building a Stuka complete with a payload drop. To make my goal more realistic, I planned on making a foam Il-2 Sturmovik without a payload drop. Still, I planned to design the foam cutout. I made progress with a nerdnic template but ran into issues with a scale that would fit a power-pod. I contemplated purchasing a build kit or using online blueprints, but postponed the project to be financially conservative.
Roller Skis
*Indefinitely Postponed*
Before I started college, I had a big list of ideas. On the first page of that list is “Roller Skis :)” I think that this can be a neat personal transportation device. I plan to do an FEA analysis of an aluminum ski and plan to manufacture using a waterjet service or school CNC machine, depending on the money and time I have on hand.
After doing some research, I came to the conclusion that this would be a huge waste of money. Even if I do not pay for a manufacturing service, the aluminum plates and ski poles will cost more than I am willing to pay.
